Gonna casually claim the second reply of this topic and say my 10 favourite lifts since I'm bored out of my mind.
It wasn't easy to pick these but in order from 10th favourite to favourite, sorry if I went into a little too much detail on the favourite and reason for _ place XD:
10. Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 16 (Balally), Dublin, Ireland. 2x 2nd Generation Kone Ecodiscs with KSS570. Serves -1, 1, 1M, 2, 2M and 3*. Both are 1m/s with semi-intelligent levelling and predoors.
Reason for favourite: Double clunk when brake applied, levels fast and predoors. Reason for 10th place: The lifts are quite slow, they're a bit cramped and the motor sounds a little run down.
9. CC Punta Marina, Orihuela Costa, Alicante, Valencian Community, Spain. 1x Kone Ecodisc with KSS520. Serves -1, 0* and 1. Lift is 1.6m/s with semi-intelligent levelling and predoors. Reason for favourite: Runs very nice and smoothly, fast and levels very well. Reason for 9th: Locked off at nighttime, can safety break itself at -1 and is a little run down.
8. Alicante-Elche Airport, Alicante, Spain. 6x Glass Orona Arca II with Arca II buttons. Serves -2, 0*, 1 and 2*. All are 1.6m/s without intelligent levelling and predoors although one of them does predoor. Reason for favourite: These are the lifts that got me really interested in Oronas, one predoors, are fast and runs very efficiently with the exception of the levelling. Reason for 8th: Gets quite humid inside the lifts and are very busy so not ideal to film.
7. Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 16 (Balally), Dublin, Ireland. 1x Orona Arca III with 3G buttons. Serves -1 and 0*. Lift is 1.6m/s without or predoors. Reason for favourite: The lift that got me interested in the new design Oronas, runs very smoothly and is overall a very nice lift. Reason for 7th: Takes a little while to level, external indicator on -1 is a little glitched and not to do with the lift but if you film the lift, the staff come and question you.
6. House of Fraser (now closed), Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 16 (Balally), Dublin, Ireland. 2x Otis 2000 with Otis Resista buttons. 1 lift serves -1, 1*, 2 and 3 and the other serves 1*, 2 and 3. Both are 2m/s without intelligent levelling although levels quickly. Reason for favourite: Fast, buttons have the wrong colour ring and is overall a fantastic lift. Reason for 6th: Gets quite busy, staff notice you filming quite easily and the left lift doesn't smell too good.
5. Aldi, Tallaght, Dublin 24, Ireland. 4x 3rd Generation Kone Ecodisc lifts, 2 have Kone KSS470 buttons and the other 2 have KSS520. Set 1 serves B and G* and Set 2 serves -3, -2, -1 and 0*. All 4 used to be 1m/s and have been upgraded to 1.6m/s with predoors (except for 1) and semi-intelligent levelling. Reason for favourite: One of the very first Ecodiscs I saw, fast and efficient. Reason for 5th: Gotten quite run down over the years e.g. door close button falling off in one of the lifts, used to be very slow and often rubbish is left in the lifts.
4. El Rincón Apartments, Orihuela Costa, Alicante, Valencian Community, Spain. 7x ThyssenKrupp ISIS Spain edition lifts, ThyssenKrupp ISIS Spain edition both normal and vandal resistant buttons. All serve 0*, 1, 2, 3. All 7 are 1.6m/s without intelligent levelling although levels quickly except for 1. Reason for favourite: The first ThyssenKrupp lifts I saw, fast, have a harsh stop and motor sound is very nice. Reason for 4th: Likely to be replaced soon, Lift #6 is painfully slow and often go out of service for no reason.
3. Mater Private Hospital, Dublin 7, Dublin, Ireland. 2x Mitsubishi, 2010s buttons. Both serve B, 1*, 2, 3, 4 and 5. Both are 1.6m/s with intelligent levelling and predoors. Reason for favourite: The first Mitsubishis I've seen, fast, efficient, first lift I've seen with intelligent levelling and overall a fantastic lift. Reason for 3rd and not higher: Are very, very busy, motor sound isn't that great and the cab is quite dirty.
2. Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 16 (Balally), Dublin, Ireland. 4x Glass Otis 2000 lifts, Otis Series 5 Vandal Resistant with Otis Skyrise Indicator. Set 1 serves -2, -1, 1*, 2, Gallery and 3, Set 2 serves 1*, 1M, 2, 2M, 3, 4, 5 and 6. All 4 are 2m/s with semi-intelligent levelling and predoors. Reason for favourite: First Otis 2000s I saw, fast, scenic, gives a great view over the region of Dundrum and Milltown when on 6th floor, efficient and the cab looks very, very nice. Reason for 2nd and not 1st: Originally I would have put it 1st but due to them being from 2004 and quite common, it didn't make 1st. There is no other reason.
1. Tallaght University Hospital, Dublin 24, Dublin, Ireland. 9x 1980s 2nd Generation Express lifts, Dewhurst US-90, serves 1*, 2, 3 and 4. Speed unknown but estimated 2.5m/s with old 2-speed levelling without predoors. Reason for favourite: The first ever Express lift I've seen, the first old lift I've seen, very very fast for the distance, apparently the only Express lifts in Ireland, fantastic motor sound, classic Express bell chime, original logic and very local to me.
