Hello everyone!

I’m here to show you how to set up your YouTube link, so people can see your channel by looking at your forum profile. I’m saying this because I came across other forum members with YouTube links set up, but the links don’t work. Instead, they will redirect you to a 404 error page.

STEPS:
  • Make sure you are logged into Skyscrapersim Forum.
  • On the top of the forum, click on the button where it says “Profile”. A drop down list should appear.
  • Click on the option that reads “Forum profile”
  • Scroll down to where you will see the input boxes that represent social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, etc). Find where it says Youtube
  • This is the tricky part. There will be a text saying to input your Youtube username. Do NOT put in YouTube username, it will not work that way. Instead, you will need to go to your youtube channel and look for your channel ID. It sounds counter intuitive but this is the ONLY way it will work. In the text box where it says to put in your channel name, type in channel/ and then your YouTube ID (it will have a combination of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.)
  • Click “Change Profile” to save your changes.
  • To fully test whether your link works, go to your profile page and click on the YouTube button. If it takes you to your channel without any problems, congratulations! You did it!

Hopefully you find this tutorial helpful to you and everyone else!

I forgot to add this but if your YouTube channel has over 100 subscribers, you may have the option to put your username in the URL, and you would put just your channel name in the place where it asks for your YouTube channel.

If you have LESS than 100 subscribers, the only working method is to do the method I have said in the first post.
