Update: November 5, 2025
Shafts started
The floors for both buildings and their columns are now complete, and a few columns were also moved. I have also started work on the shafts of the "core" section of the Seashell Building, by adding the cuts for the shaftworks, but none of the stairwells are started yet. This "core" section includes the service elevators, all three hotel elevator banks (L, 22 express, 22-30, and 22, 33-40), and two stairwells. Coming up, I will complete the aforementioned shaftworks and start on the remaining shaftworks (L, 41-42 observation express, L-5 conference, L, 6-11 office, L, 14-20 office, and L-5 Sandbar Wing) and all four stairwells.
To-do (structural):
- Columns: Done
- Floors: Done
- Interfloor: Making good progress
- Elevators: Barely started
- Stairwells: Not started

What're the elevator cabs gonna be? Do you have textures for them?

SkyscraperSim bug
Attention, everyone. I have not posted in this IP topic in a while because I found a bug that makes shaft walls and floors disappear when there's no elevator. Since this bug still has not been fixed, I have not been able to make an update to g-ElevIntegration and the IP has been put on hold since the last update. Once eventhorizon fixes the bug (eventhorizon, your support would be greatly appreciated), I will resume progress and updates to this IP.

I'm checking this issue now, and will hopefully have a fix for it soon.

It has been fixed in the 2.1 codebase, though I have not tested my buildings on it yet.

A test, successful.
I have just tested my IP buildings on the SkyscraperSim 2.1 Alpha codebase, and it proved successful. Because of this, the long hiatus of development in this IP, which went on since November 2025, will finally come to an end tomorrow. Development on the Palm Tree Plaza and updates to this IP will resume after all this time.

Yeah it's in the 2.1 codebase and build, I haven't put out a new 2.0 release since I'm waiting for more fixes before making a new one, since the 2.0 releases are harder to make.

Update: May 13, 2026
All shafts cut!
I have completed the cuts for all of the shafts and stairwells in both the Seashell Building and the Sandbar Wing. The shaftworks for the future service, hotel express (L, 22), hotel lower (22-30), and hotel upper (22, 33-40) elevators have also been completed, as their shaft enclosures (walls, floor, and ceiling) have been added. I have also changed the texture for the floor decks to be a corrugated-metal style, and realigned one of the core columns. Next up, I will finish the shaftworks and the first elevators will be installed: the service elevators.
To-do (structural):
- Columns: Done
- Floors: Done
- Interfloor: Making good progress
- Elevators: Started
- Stairwells: Barely started

What brands will there be? If you said it already, I genuinely forgot.

Again, the office elevators will be KONE, the Sandbar Wing elevators will be Otis, and every other elevator will be TKE (ThyssenKrupp).

Update: May 15, 2026
Steel I-beams(!)
I have just finished the shaftworks, and am making progress on the stairwells. In order to increase realism, I have also now changed the texture of the concrete and began to install steel joists, including steel I-beams (which may be a SkyscraperSim first) and steel girder trusses, starting with in the stairwells and the Sandbar Wing. So far, only the stairwells have all girder trusses and I-beams installed, but the Sandbar Wing also has some of its I-beams installed. However, because I started adding these joists, installation of the service elevators has not happened yet. I will do that after completing the steel joists.
To-do (structural):
- Columns: Done
- Floors: Done
- Interfloor: Making good progress
- Elevators: Making good progress
- Stairwells: Making good progress
